My clinical and research interests include equine poor performance, the upper airway, ophthalmic surgery, trauma and wound healing and I have been instrumental in the development and validation of the technique of overground endoscopy. Although I am principally a surgeon, I have a range of experience with exotic, zoo animals and wildlife, and served as a trustee and veterinary director of the Irish Seal for many years. In addition to this I am a keen Bee Keeper and introduced the teaching of Bee husbandry and disease to the undergraduate veterinary curriculum.
