Georgie Hollis BSc As founder of The Veterinary Wound Library, Georgie specialises in wound dressings and sharing her knowledge with Vets and veterinary nurses to help improve wound care in animals. She has written many articles and lectured internationally on the subject aiming to inform clinicians on the latest advances in wound care. Georgie developed the Bandaging Angels to work alongside the Veterinary Wound Library in response to a large number of complications arising due to bandaging injuries, as well as many issues that can be resolved through bandaging technique. An associate member of the BVNA Georgie is an advocate for the role of the ‘Wound Nurse’ which she has begun to make a reality by working with the BVNA to create the six month ‘Delving Deeper into Wounds’ Lantra accredited certificate.
Kassie Hill Fdsc RVN, REVN, E-SQP Equine and Small Animal Bandaging Angel - South East and South Central Kassie joined Cliffe Equine in July 2011 upon completion of her Veterinary Nursing degree in small animals with the University of Brighton. She completed her equine veterinary nursing top-up in 2013. Kassie has been part of the equine world since her earliest years when she began helping out on an event yard in her early teens, realising that she gained immense satisfaction from rehabilitating horses following injury. She has more recently gone on to become both a qualified clinical coach and an SQP and has joined the Equine Bandaging Angels team. In her spare time Kassie can be found helping with the families eventing team or walking her dogs. Louise Paillor RVN, REVN, SQP, Animal Health Advisor Equine and Small Animal Bandaging Angel - North West Louise is a qualified Registered Equine (2000) and Small Animal (1997) veterinary nurse with over 30 years’ experience working in practice. Her current role is Equine Operations Manager at a large Equine Practice in Cheshire. Here she divides her time between clinical work and managing the nursing team and running the Equine clinic. Louise has gone on to become an SQP thus enabling her to prescribe POM-VPS and NFA-VPS medicines in her own right. In 2016 Louise passed the ‘Delving Deeper into Wounds’ course, developed by Georgie Hollis (The Veterinary Wound Library) in association with BVNA (British Veterinary Nursing Association), fulfilling her interest in wound management and healing. This led her to becoming one of our Bandaging Angels.
Marie Rippingale BSc(Hons), REVN, G-SQP, DipHE CVN, DipAVN(Equine) Equine Bandaging Angel - Central, Midlands and Wales Obtaining a First Class Honours Degree in Equine Sports Science in 2005,Marie has worked at Scarsdale Vets in Derby since 2003 qualifying as an REVN with merit in 2007. In 2012, Marie obtained the Diploma in Higher Education Clinical Veterinary Nursing (Dip HE CVN) and gained the RCVS Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Dip AVN) in equine context, with distinction. She also lectures on the VN Diploma at Bottle Green Training in Melbourne and has published articles in The Veterinary Nurse and The VNJ. Following her special interest in bandaging and wound care Marie became an Equine Bandaging Angel in 2015. Her other interests include foal nursing, radiography, anaesthesia and intravenous catheter care.
